I recently heard that the city plans on cutting the funding to the Chamber of Commerce over 3 years. They want the Chamber to be self sufficient. I guess that would be possible if we had a city with a lot of retail, such as Cerritos and Arcadia, with their car dealerships and malls, but Azusa has so very little retail. It sounds like a huge mistake to me. It makes the city look like they are anti-business.
I have also been told that Mayor Rocha would not meet with the Chamber when he was first elected. That also is not a good sign for business in Azusa.
That is so sad because most residents want more businesses in Azusa. They want the city to be friendly to good businesses.
