Get out the vote
It's election day for Azusa, Covina, Glendora, Monrovia, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Dimas and Temple City. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., except in Azusa and Temple City, where they close at 7 p.m.
Voters in these cities will flock to 89 polling locations to choose 19 council members from a field of 54, elect three mayors and vote on two measures. Absentee voters can bring ballots to their city hall until the polls close, and in several cities can also drop them off at any polling location. All eight cities plan to post vote-count updates on their official Web sites as votes are tallied tonight.
The U.S. Department of Justice will monitor elections in four Los Angeles County cities, including Azusa and Rosemead, which failed to print enough election materials in foreign languages in previous elections.
