Tour to focus on gold mining ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST - The U.S. Forest Service will discuss the gold-mining history of San Gabriel Canyon during its monthly naturalist led tour Jan. 27. The tour is from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. Meet at the San Gabriel Canyon Environmental Education Center, 0.7 miles past the East Fork Bridge on Highway 39 above Azusa. Cost is $5 per person.
