I would love to see Azusa Unified School District create a school that is similar to Fairgrove Academy. Here are a few links....but there are tons of others on the internet....awards, donations, business contributions, etc.

Fairgrove has broken all stereotypes about culture and socio-economic status. Despite being a Title 1 school with 83 percent of students eligible for free- or reduced-price lunch and 90 percent Hispanic, student attendance is high and the school has an API of 768.

Summer Outreach Program at Fairgrove Academy
The Parsons Foundation is making possible a YSC summer outreach program for students at Fairgrove Academy in La Puente. 18 one-week classes are being given over a 4 week period. Classes being offered include Woodworking, Hyperstudio, Insects, Chemistry, Household Chemistry, Microsoft Office and Lego Robotics.

For Azusa, they have the potential of adding more students by creating new schools that offer a better quality of education that the local private schools and home schooling offer. That this will be necessary in order to fulfill the needs of the residents.

California Charter Schools Association, CCSA, has begun by launching a new site, www.myschool.org, to show parents the location of every charter in the state. It will also offer $8 million in start-up grants for those looking to open charters.
