So they're going to move, interesting. Hey, here's a thought: the city redevelopment agency could now declare all of Mountain Cove a blighted area, raze the houses, and offer the land to the gun club! Don't ya just love eminent domain? Thought you all would enjoy a good chuckle today.

Hello Neighbors,
I went to the gun club meeting this evening. There were quite a few neighbors from the Mirador development, Mountain Cove, as well as neighbors from other parts of Azusa at the meeting; most stated that they did not want the gun club to be given an extension. Their 18 months is up in September of 2006. However, it appears that they are requesting an extension to December 31st, 2007. I’m not sure what the city would get by allowing the extension. A solid plan needs to be developed that will express this in writing. We were told that the gun club has a new board and that the board has chosen to move to Burro Canyon. The plan has not been finalized or signed.
The gun club has stated that they will have another meeting in August, hopefully with some sort of plan that we can look at.
I'm glad that they have decided to move to Burro Canyon. It sounds like the growth plans of Burro Canyon will eventually be able to offer the same services that the other gun club currently offers. I hope that it eventually becomes a better club than the one in Azusa ever was. I personally hope that a fair and reasonable moving plan can be developed.
I would think that any plan would need to consider reducing hours, not allowing for additional extensions, no threats of law suits, and proper clean up to protect the water table and the environment that will allow the land to go back to its natural state.
