DUI checkpoint planned in Azusa
AZUSA - The "Avoid the Seven" DUI Task Force in the East San Gabriel Valley will conduct a DUI sobriety and driver license checkpoint today at an undisclosed location in Azusa, law enforcement officials said.
Officers administering "Avoid the Seven" receive specialized training in the identification and apprehension of DUI drivers.
Participating agencies in the program include the California Highway Patrol, Azusa Police Department, Baldwin Park Police Department and West Covina Police Department.
The program is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
