No fireworks are aloud in Mountain Cove.
AZUSA HAS NEW FIREWORKS LAWS
Know and Obey Them
The City of Azusa is committed to making this 4th of July holiday season safe and enjoyable for everyone. Therefore, the City Council made several changes to the Azusa Municipal Code as it pertains to fireworks. Below are some of the changes made to Azusa's Municipal Codes and other information to know this season:
Permitted Discharge of Safe and Sane Fireworks:
May only be discharged in residential zones on July 4th beginning at noon and ending at midnight
May not be discharged at any other time or place
Shall not be discharged within 100 yards of any fireworks stand
May not be discharged north of the centerline of Sierra Madre Avenue
Penalties:
Administrative citations may be issued by the police for illegal discharge of safe and sane and illegal fireworks
Violators will be fined $250 for the first violation and $500 for the second violation
Violation of any provision of the State Fireworks Law or Regulation is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine from $500 to $1,000 or up to 1-year county jail
It is prohibited for anyone under the age of 18 to purchase fireworks in Azusa
Safe and Sane:
Safe and sane fireworks have the State Fire Marshal (SFM) seal
As a rule of thumb, safe and sane fireworks do not explode, dart or travel
Fireworks are not toys. They can cause deaths, blinding, and other sever injuries. Don’t play with fireworks of any kind. They are illegal in all areas of the City north of Sierra Madre Ave., in Parks, commercial parking lots and sidewalks and/or street right of ways immediately next to any park, and all commercial parking lots in the City.
This 4th of July, the Police Department will once again target those discharging illegal fireworks and will vigorously enforce the new City Municipal Codes and all other applicable laws. Please act responsibly and help the City of Azusa be a better and safer place to live.
