Irwindale brushfire burns 5 acres near 210 freeway IRWINDALE - Firefighters doused a brush fire that burned 5.7 acres in the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area west of the Miller Brewing Company on Monday. Afternoon traffic slowed, but the Foothill (210) Freeway remained open while firefighters brought the blaze under control. About 100 firefighters responded and two helicopters dropped water on the fire, which likely started on the south side of the freeway and spread to the north side. Firefighters were investigating the cause of the fire, said Fire Inspector Sam Padilla.
