At the last city council meeting, there was a student from one of the Azusa schools (the Roman Catholic school) that requested funding to help him go to Yale during the summer. He is a 4.0 student in Azusa that comes from a single parent family. He has been invited to a Yale program for approximatley 250 high school students invited to be taught by Yale professors during the summer. The program costs a little under $4k plus the cost of the flight and additional expenses. He would also like to borrow a laptop for a couple of months so that he would have one while he is at Yale. He gave out his phone number but I'm not sure if it is a good idea to give it out over the internet.
