Los Angeles County Supervisors Tuesday approved plans to begin renovations on
6.5 miles of the San Gabriel River Bike Trail, which starts at a recently completed trail head at San Gabriel Canyon Road and Highway 39 in Azusa and ends at the Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach.
The trail will be repaved, existing chain-link gates removed and new gates installed, and pavement will be striped along the stretch of trail from the Whittier Narrows Dam to Florence Avenue, through Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs and Downey.
