The developer, Standard Pacific Homes, expects the houses to start at $900,000 and go up to about $1.5 million.
According to Michael Battaglia, vice president of project development for Standard Pacific, grading starts this month and models are expected to open in spring 2007. The homes will be built on 9,000- to 11,000-square-foot lots and will range in size from 2,000 to 5,000 square feet.
In Azusa only 33 new students came in when the 327-home Mountain Cove development opened in 2002.
However, for the 1,250-home Rosedale development scheduled to open in a couple of years, Azusa Unified School District will open a new K-8 school that can accommodate 900 students. Rosedale homes are expected to start selling from the mid-$300,000s to $1 million depending on size and location.
