W. Nile found in IrwindaleThe infected mosquitoes were discovered late Wednesday in Irwindale. In the Irwindale rock pit, not all of the standing pools have been tested, mainly because they're tough to reach. "They are so deep and far- removed that we are not certain the mosquitoes are leaving the site. We'll finish up the evaluation by early next week,' Middleton said. Infected mosquitoes and one bird were found in Claremont last month, along with two infected birds in San Dimas and one infected bird each in Glendora and Walnut. No human cases of West Nile virus have been reported this year in Los Angeles County.
