The blackout today was very long. Does the Azusa Light & Water have backup power? Are they going to increase their electric supply before Rosedale is built? What will they do to make sure that it does not happen again?

From todays San Gabriel Valley Tribune, www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205~12220~2976446,00.html ..."Azusa suffered two power failures Thursday, affecting about 70 percent of the city. A bird flew into an underground vault on Pasadena Avenue and First Street, tripping a breaker and causing a 15-minute outage around 4:15 p.m., Azusa spokesman Martin Quiroz said. Two transformers caught fire at the Angeleno substation and a third transformer was partially damaged at about 4:45 p.m., knocking out power to about 70 percent of the city, he said."... |
