They showed no respect for Azusa or its residents. They don't care about Azusa. They only care about having their "playground" open. We need to unite as a community and ask the Council to appoint Mr. Macias. He and the rest of the Council will make Azusa great!

I agree with you. Macias seems more qualified for the position than any of the other possibilities. The council can appoint anyone they want, why not pick the one with the most votes after Chagnon..... Macias. makes good sense to me!

This community no longer seems to be friendly. Way too much bickering going on to be pleasant. I was actually contemplating purchasing several homes in the northern area because of the closeness of the firearm range, much as those who practice golf desire to live near golf courses or those who like boating desire to live near lakes and rivers. Those who's hobby is firearms definitely desire to live near firing ranges.
Now, if the range is going to close, there is no reason to move to this region. I will invest my funds elsewhere.
However, as of now it will not be in the near future that I do purchase homes. I must find another place. This will take time and planning. Maybe there is still a chance for the likes of me to buy in this area. Perhaps the shooting range will expand and move onto the adjacent Federal property where Azusa has no say in the matter. I understand that this will place the range even closer to the complaining homes. Maybe at the trial the Range will be fortunate and actually have a Judge that believes that prior written acknowledgments do have some weight.
The premise of this range closure is based upon complaints of noise and noise complaints alone. This is more than likely well documented in public records. These noise complaints more than likely prompted the city to rezone to close the range. Concerning lead, anyone who knows the facts and science concerning lead contamination would tell you that there would be a very slim chance of this happening due to the bullets from the firing range. So, lead contamination would not and could not be a problem. Perhaps in court the judge will see through this facade by the city and the residents of Mountain Cove. If the city had just rezoned in the name of rezoning alone instead of reacting to citizen's complaints, all would be upstanding. If it is true that the city decided to rezone after they received the noise complaints, then this whole affair is based only noise complaints and not upon the city's desire to improve through rezoning. They simply used rezoning as an excuse to close the range. Of course there is always the issue of someone profiting due to this rezoning. Is this happening? Of course it is. Otherwise why do it? Do any city council members or the mayor stand to profit in any way whatsoever because of the rezoning? Do any nearby property owners stand to profit from the rezoning? Of course they do. Even if city officials did not actually vote on the issue "they still have friends at city hall" don't they? It is difficult to imagine this is true, because in today's legally paranoid environment they would be foolish and would not stand a chance in Hell of getting away with it (ala: Martha Stewart). So, everything is more than likely upstanding and legal.

Vanford, Do you expect us to say we'll miss you? Are you serious? Please stay in the town you now reside in and ask them to put the gun club in your back yard. This way you just have to step out your back yard to enjoy the sounds of war on a daily basis and your family and you can enjoy the benfits of lead for yourselves. The rezoning process started back in the late 1990's and involves the whole city. All of Azusa's neighboring cities have done their re-developments long ago. the only reason Azusa hadn't done it before is because of budget constraints. Get informed! O.K..o.k...We'll miss you!

Hello Neighbors,
The above post is obviously from one of the gun club members. Please do not argue with him. It is nice to know what their arguement will be before they file it.
Residents, please do not argue the case over this board. If it is to go to court, so be it. But please do not try to argue the case here. Thank you.
