Ken
No huge surprises here. I thought that Donnelson would have done better, but I can understand why he did not. He should have started with his fundraising a little earlier. It was his first time running, so he really should have worked on getting his name out there more, which requires more money. Without the resources, he was not able to get his name out there like he should have. Maybe he can be put on the planning commission. He and his supporters needed to pound the pavement more.
As for Hanks, I hope that he changes his position a little and bases his decisions on what is best for the residents and not on the people that live outside the city. Does anyone know how much money he accepted from the gun club?

Precinct 6 - Foothill Vista is the one area that has a couple unusual numbers. Rocha received less votes than Hanks. All of the other precincts, Rocha received almost double the votes of any of the other candidates. I wonder if Hanks lives in this area. But that still would not explain why they did not vote for Rocha as high as the rest of the city. 840 E. Foothill Blvd. maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=Z6Q5Tep_0TpZ9ToNiuNCW8yZEiE1QtpB2HtYTCR3&csz=91702&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=According to the Tribune, there are still 79 provisional ballots that have not been counted. For those that do not know, provisional ballots are ballots for people that are not on the official voter list. They need to determine which of the voters, if any, are eligible to vote in the election. And then count the ones that are eligible. That is enough ballots to possibly have Carrillo winning instead of Hanks. There is only a 29 vote difference between them before counting the provisional ballots. www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205~12220~2752699,00.html

www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205%257E12220%257E2756746,00.html Hanks won the city council seat. Hanks 1147 Carrillo 1133 Carrillo will probably get Chagnon's seat because that is what the city has historically done. I think that we should congratulate the winners. We need to work with these people. Many seem to believe that Hanks is in the pocket of the gun club. I hope that Hanks will clarify his position after he has a chance to speak about the issue with the other city council members. I don't believe that he knows everything that the city council knows about this issue.

Now that we can communicate with each other in a better manner, and we made it a little difficult for non-members to log under numerous names, we need to discuss what is best for Azusa. I do believe that Uriel Macias is an asset to the city and I would hate to lose him, because he is a very intelligent individual, and knows what the current issues are in Azusa. I have heard numerous comments that others as well, would like him to be in the council. Diane, Rocha, Hardison, and Uriel would make a strong caliber council. I would love to know what the rest of MC members and residents think of this scenario? Can we join together to talk to current council members, Diane, and city officials to see what can be done? Alternatively, does someone have more inside information that I am missing?
