Montarra www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205%257E12220%257E2691492,00.html I like the new name. It is too bad the developer has to hear from the complainers in the first article about the new development. I agree with Peggy Martinez's comment in the article.

There was only one resident who "complained" that she didn't like the name. Martinez's quote complimented it, Macias's quote said Monterra might have sounded better. The developer didn't get this, the reporter did.
You got to understand that in these newspaper articles, you don't really get to hear the QUESTION being asked: "What do you like about this name?" or "Could you have think of a better name?" ... You just get a soundbyte that's almost always out of a bigger context. It's the reporters job to TRY to get a wide array of quotes to use for an article. I thought the article was pretty good.
I can think of better names I'd like too. To me it sounds like the name of my friend's Mitsubishi SUV or a character on the Mortal Kombat video game I played years ago. That doesn't mean I'm complaining though. I think it's alright. It's really just something they need to call it to sell and advertise the homes anyway. It's not going to be a gated community like ours, so any name they choose will fade away over time anyway......

I think the name is fine as it is. All I said to Marianne Love of the Tribune was that by changing one letter it would mean and sound much nicer. The first "a" to an "e". Then it would read Monterra. That sounds much nicer. But I'm glad to see they are moving forward with this. Just my two cents.
