Found the following on the Azusa web site. The ride sounds like fun. Interesting who paid for the extension. I could swear that we were told that some of the melaroose (sp?) tax we pay would be used to extend the bike path.
Have you ever ridden your bike the 50-miles from the majestic San Gabriel Mountains to the sands of Seal Beach? Alternatively, maybe you would prefer a five or ten-mile fun ride? What ever your pleasure, come and join us when we celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Azusa Bike Trail Extension, Saturday, February 26 at 9:30 across from the US Forest Service entry station on Highway 39. The bike trail extension was made possible by a $350,000 grant from Supervisor Gloria Molina’s Los Angeles County office. The trail extends from the Angeles National Forest entry station in Azusa to Seal Beach. The event will be inaugurated by Supervisor Gloria Molina, and feature a fun-ride loop, and custom bike show. All participants will receive a commemorative rider’s patch. If you would like to confirm your bike organization’s attendance, please call Martin Quiroz at 626-812-5178. We look forward to riding with you.

I know about gates, I don'tlve in Mountain Cove but I can tell you that there's a quick turn around on replacement parts for any gate system. It's amazing what you can have done through UPS nowadays. Nothing takes two weeks!
