www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205~12220~2665428,00.html I hope that this new law will help with the dust problem. I cannot believe how much dust we get. After all of that rain, I thought that the decks would be clean, I swept and found a pile of dust. I think that we should thank our reprepresentatives for creating such a law and ask them to make sure to enforce it. www.house.gov/writerep/ Our full zip code is 91702-6265

The representative for the Eastern Cities of Los Angeles for the AQMD is Bea LaPisto-Kirtley, who is also the Mayor of Bradbury. We can email her assistant at Douglas_Kim@Juno.com or call at 909.396.2727 or 626357.3330

Has anyone heard any updates on where the additional 80 acres stands. I think that it has been over a year since Vulcan came to Mountain Cove to show us their propsal to strip mine an additional 80 acres. What is the status of this?
One thing that really bugs me about this is when you have a huge corporation coming into the city, pulling the natural resources out of it, and taking those profits some place else. I wish the city could do something to get them to spend some of those profits making investments locally, in the city of Azusa. It would be nice if we could have them spend a minimum of 10% of their profits from the local mines to buy properties and fix them up, which will make these properties worth even more. And then they can sell them and make even more money. It might be a creative way to start working on reducing the number of delapidated properties in Azusa. Azusa needs big money to come in to rebuild these properties. I know this may be a long shot but it bugs me to see a big corporation take advantage of a poor city. What do you think?

Hello,
I would like to hear more about this as well. I agree, it would be nice if we could get the mining company to invest a portion of their returns locally. Maybe this would be a good way to speed up the progress of the general plan for the city.
