Last night (Friday 7/30) at 3:a.m. a dog was heard barking, and barking and barking. I got into my car and drove around to find it. I got by the gates and in a Wild wood the lights upstairs went on and the barking stopped, connection? Who ever has this dog had better keep it in.....This was terrible for the dog and everyone in Mountainn Cove. I feared for the dog that something was trying to hurt it (like a coyote?)....Keep your dogs in at night!!!!!!!!!

The barking I heard was around 4am and it seemed to be coming from Foxtail. What I heard sounded like energized howling from a dog seemingly fearing for its life. This morning I noticed a neighbor living off Foxtail had their trashcans upended and trash strewn all around. Two weeks ago or so, a neighbor told me she'd spotted a black bear doing a number on her trash receptacles. I'm beginning to wonder if we aren't being visited by a late-night snacker from the forest. I'm on Foxtail and the dog was not on our street, unless it was in front of the homes and then moved down. It may have been 3:30-4:00 when I went out and got into my car to find the animal..... It was my trash that was turned over, not last night but the night before...I only saw it when I came home earlier on Friday night and was too tired to pick it up. I picked up the mess this a.m. I'm anxious to get my landscaping and gates so my trash can stay behind in the side yard to prevent this... Waiting for landscaping committee...Any way when I went out I followed the noise to the front gates, when the light went on in Wildwood the barking stopped, not to be heard again.....I hope someone comes forward. I thought it was scared or hurt myself....

Then I stand corrected. It sounded like it was coming from Foxtail. Just goes to show you how well sound carries in the canyon. It was me, standing naked, howling at the moon...
