It is my understanding that should Rocha become Mayor he plans to appoint Andrea Cruz to the city council. This means that a vote for Rocha, in effect, is a vote for Cruz. For any of you who have not had the misfortune to hear her speak about her plans for Azusa you should be afraid.......very afraid of this "back room" deal to appoint her. Wheras Rocha just wants to maintain the status quo, Cruz wants to completely "roll back" the redevelopment plans. She will not be happy until she sends Azusa back to the Stone Age! Keep in mind, Cruz's sister is disgraced ex-mayor Christina Madrid. Madrid even voted against the development of Mountain Cove. Just think, we wouldn't be living in these beautiful homes had Madrid succeeded. Looks like the sisters think alike. Vote to protect your property values that you worked so hard to achieve. Vote No on Rocha so that he doesn't have the opportunity to ruin our community by appointing Andrea Cruz. Let's keep the positive momentum going in Azusa. Vote to reelect Mayor Diane Chagnon.

First of all, a councilmember would have to make a motion and it would take 3 council votes for anyone to be appointed. That leads me to believe that Mr. Hanks would have to vote for this, and I don't he would do this. The new council will make the best decision that is in the best interest of the city. On the other side of the coin, your current mayor, Chagnon, supported the high density first Rosedale project. So just think, we could've been living in "The Projects" if Diane had her way. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Sparticus, your math is a little off. There would be 4 on the council including Hanks. He votes no on the sister of the disgraced ex-mayor Madrid, Andrea Cruz, that still leaves the other three. He would lose 3-1 and like magic she is on the council taking Azusa back to the Stone Age. Again, vote no on Rocha because that means it would be a no vote on Cruz. It would be a disaster for all Azusa if she was appointed to the city council by Rocha.

First of all, where are you getting this information from? I do not see Andrea being nominated, and if she was appointed, I will be the first one to go down to City Hall and take out recall papers myself. So take a chill pill, this will NOT happen. It is very irresponsible to spread rumors that have no basis. It is even more irresponsible to start a rumor as a method to deceive the voters with your shameless propaganda.

Well Sparticus, I believe it is true and since you are on the Committee to Elect Rocha I do not really care what you have to say about it. Perhaps if you had been honest from the start that you were invested in the Rocha campaign, I would place more weight in your denial. As it is, I will stand by my comments. "Rocha=Cruz"

Well Summit, hopefully at the March 19th council meeting you will see for yourself that Andrea Cruz will not be appointed, and therefore I can tell you "I told you so." Most likely others to be considered for this appointment will include Diane Chagnon or the other well qualified runner-up candidates.

Summit, You are obviously a desperate Chagnon supporter taking last minute desperate measures to spread untrue rumors in a desperate attempt to keep your poor excuse of a Mayor in office.
Sorry!.....too late!
The public won't buy your sad lies or hers anymore.
Tomorrow you will be hearing the people's new anthem.....Hit the road Jack....and don't you come back no more, no more, no more...... See ya.....Chagnon!!!

I've been reading this board since just after the campaign started. Up until now, I'd say the discussion was intelligent and civilized. Alas, it appears desperation has brought out an 11th-hour surge of bull.
This distinctly reminds me of the individual in Diane's campaign two years ago, who used a similiar tactic. He was going around town and on message boards describing Uriel Macias as the pawn of Cristina Cruz Madrid. Of course, this wasn't true, and neither is what Summit2843 is putting here.
If I may point out, Summit2843 keeps asserting that if you're a member of a candidate's campaign (which, incidentally, I am), that your opinion is worthless. Are we supposed to believe that you, Summit2843, are not of Diane's campaign? When you're using her tired catchphrases such as, "keep the positive momentum," I would find that a little hard to swallow.
In the other subject you posted on this board, I saw how you made a point of saying you're not fixated on Cristina Cruz-Madrid. But I noticed that here you couldn't avoid mentioning her name. I wish you had something relevant or factual to say. It's a lot cleaner than trying to spread hysteria generated from your imagination.
