Which way Rocha going?
I read Azusa Councilman Joe Rocha's recent mailer announcing his intention to run for mayor of Azusa. While speaking about development, he touts his support of many development projects that have improved Azusa in the past few years.
I noted his claim to have supported Cingular and Subway on Foothill Boulevard and Azusa Avenue. But Rocha voted to stop the project when it came before the City Council for final approval. While it's true that Rocha supported the project in its early stage, when the time came to make the final decision, he changed his position and voted in the face of criticism from one business owner over the project.
He won't be the first politician to say he voted for something before he voted against it. Nor is he the first to take credit for something only after it has been proven a success.
How can I put my trust in a politician that seems to be going one way but then will suddenly go another?
