Holiday decorating contest set to begin

AZUSA - Both holiday spirit and a competitive spirit are called for in Azusa's second annual Holiday Home Decoration Contest.

Residents are encouraged to break out their wreaths and other scenery for the occasion. Winners will be named in categories such as best animated display, most original, holiday humor and best overall house, said Ed Sierra, who is coordinating the event for the city's recreation department.

Entry forms are available at www.ci.azusa.ca.us, and at Memorial Park Recreation Center at 320 N. Orange Place in Azusa. Entries are due by Dec. 7, and park commissioners will begin the judging after 5:30 p.m. Dec.12.

Annual Home Decorating Contest

This Holiday Season the City of Azusa has the perfect opportunity for all apprentice designers to showcase their talents by entering the 2nd Annual Holiday Home Decorating Contest.

Decorate your home with wreaths, lights, seasonal characters, and any other decorative ornaments your budget can sustain. The sky and your imagination is the only limit! When your masterpiece is completed it can be entered and judged in one of the following categories: Holiday Humor, Hand Crafted Display, Originality, Holiday Spirit and Sweepstakes.

Entry forms will be available at the Memorial Park Office beginning Monday, October 30, 2006 and the entry must be returned by December 7, 2006 with the $5 entry fee. Your artistry will be judged Tuesday, December 12 and/or Wednesday, December 13 after 5:30 P.M. Prizes include lawn signs announcing your achievement and various gifts.
