Mayoral candidate sued by siblings
AZUSA - City Councilman Joseph Rocha is being sued by three of his siblings, who have accused him of cutting them out of their inheritance by keeping thousands of dollars and a house that belonged to their mother.
Rocha, who is running for mayor, denied the accusations. He explained his mother made him promise never to sell the house, and he added he already has distributed the bulk of his mother's money to his siblings.
His two sisters, Dorothy Scheuermann and Stella Redenbaugh, and one of his brothers Richard Rocha, said their mother promised them the house would be sold and money would be divided among them. They are suing Rocha for $750,000.
Rocha must respond to the lawsuit by Thursday, after which his attorney said a hearing date is expected to be set.
