What is going on with the kids play area? Its been well over year since the slide has been broken. I would like to start a formal complaint to our board to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

It is the first time I have heard of it. Yes, make sure that the board is aware of it. I'm hoping that they will paint the tables in the park as well.

The board has been working on this. They have had trouble finding the replacement part (slide). They thought that they had someone that could get it and ordered it for them but they disappeared.

I wrote to Lorena Vasquez about this some 3 months ago, after a year of the play area being half usable. The spiral slide is boarded off because it's got a large crack in it and the other slide is too harsh to enjoy. My daughter complained that it hurt after several rides down the sharp turn slide. in any case, following my email to Lorena, I was promised that by end of June, it was going to be a priority to fix it. And sure enough, and not surprisingly, our HOA money goes into the void of space. It's so simple. Slides are $300-400 to replace. I can't fathom that being an issue for what we all pay. Why isn't this fixed. Why isn't Lorena V. standing by her word? Frustrated!!!

Lester,
While I don't doubt you've discussed replacing it, I find it HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely that it would be difficult to find a replacement slide given the fact that I just searched for slides on the internet and found a match to the slide we have in our park in less than a minute. What is really going on? Give me the responsibility and I'll have the slide ordered and installed in a week. My gosh! It's not hard. Really, no really, it's not hard.
"They thought that they had someone that could get it and ordered it for them but they disappeared."
Ummm... speechless...

I have been told that they are now working on replacing the entire thing. They have had problems with two different companies who have said they would replace it so they decided it would be better to just replace the entire thing.

I sincerely hope the playground is completely replaced, because as it stands now it's useless. However, none of this explains why it's taken year and a half to fix. A year and a half! A YEAR AND A HALF! I take my daughter to the neighboring parks because I don't want her bruising herself anymore on the one remaining slide. Severely disappointed in the board. I also love that no apologies are given. Instead, let's blame the guys who disappeared. Have you been looking for this person or people for one and a half years? Honestly...
