I wonder if any other Mtn Cove residents has received a bright red, 8"X8" sticker reading "FINAL WARNING" on their car?
I have lived in Mountain Cove for years and late on Sunday night I parked my car in my drive way behind my other car which caused the rear end of the car to obstruct the sidewalk. I know this is probably against the HA rules, not to mention traffic rules. However, I was going to move my car later and I forgot to do so. The next morning, yesterday the 13th, I was about to take my kids to school and head to work and discovered that someone had placed an 8" by 8" red sticker in the middle of the driver's side of the windshield which read, "FINAL WARNING. Your car has viloated CV1288 and next time will be towed at your expense. A picture of your license plate was taken." The sticker indicated the supposed time they had left it, 11:15 PM, and the date, but there was no space on the sticker for a signature or initial, nor was there ANY identifiers as to who (Police, security service, etc.) had placed the sticker on my windshield, which I could not remove. I was furious about having the sticker placed on my car as well as not being able to remove it. I couldn't drive my car to work because the sticker obstructed my view, so I had to use the other car.
I contacted Euclid Management about this, and they in turn contacted the security service which denied that they ever use stickers of any kind, let alone one of that size. I contacted Azusa police which stated the obvious, they do not use stickers for "warnings" at all, and if they did the sticker would indicate that the Azusa PD issued it. Then I contacted the security service myself and was told the same thing that Euclid management said. I finally called the Highway Patrol, who had been patrolling Mountain Cove at around the same time that the sticker was supposedly placed on my car; they stated firmly that they do not use stickers, and like Azusa PD, if they did, it would have some form of CA Highway Patrol identifier on it. The police, Highway patrol, and Mountain Cove's security service all felt that someone living in Mountain Cove likely did it.
So, fellow Covers, watch out. If I break the parking rules, then I am man enough to accept the consequences: ticket, warning, or even having my car towed away. Call the security service. However, leaving an anonymous sticker on my windshield is the act of a childish, passive aggressive coward who cannot stand up for themselves. Lets not play these childish games. And if you continue to do so, I assure you that you will regret it.
