Do we have a regular budget for our events? I'm not suggesting that it will cover all of these items..but perhaps over time we could buy a few at a time. Also how much did we make with our previous events? Could we kick up profits with wine bars etc....?

The Social Committee was asked by a board member to see if it would be possible to get what we need through donations. The Social Committee does have a budget, but often times, generous residents buy things for the events that are never accounted for in the budget.
Legally, the Social Committee does not make any money at any of the events. The Social Committee is not aloud to make money. Any proceeds made from the events go to a worthwhile local charity, for example, Our Neighborhood Homework House. And these donations, on average, total around $100-350 per event. I think that we had one event that was as high as $300.
