Fire Restoration, Wilderness and More Rangers and Resources! Join Us For A Special Program on the San Gabriel Mountains
Station Fire view from Tujunga. Join us next Tuesday for a special update on fire recovery efforts and much more!
Mary Ann Ruiz, pictured here with her daughter, will give a local perspective on the latest efforts to permanently protect wild areas in the San Gabriel Mountains.
2009 has been the best of times and the worst of times for the San Gabriel Mountains. Join us next Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 7 p.m. at the Upland Presbyterian Church (click here for directions) for an insider's update on the San Gabriel Mountains and a new campaign to protect and restore them.
Our program, "Wilderness, Fire and What's Next for the San Gabriel Mountains" will detail Station Fire recovery efforts, promising new wilderness legislation and a visionary proposal to increase resources and rangers for the 3.5 million visitors of the San Gabriel Mountains. Leading the presentation will be San Gabriel Mountains Forever Campaign staffers John Monsen and Juana Torres. Sierra Club volunteer Mary Ann Ruiz will also be there to give you a local perspective on the protection of our wilderness areas.
The program is a joint presentation of the Los Serranos Group and the San Gabriel Mountains Forever Campaign.
Join us next Tuesday in Upland and learn how you can help out. For more information please contact Juana Torres at juana.torres@sierraclub.org or at 213-387-6528 x 226.
Thanks for caring about the future of our forests!
Best,
Juana Torres
