I am sure you all know about the gravel pit that has been in Fish Canyon, north and west of Azusa, for many years. Vulcan Materials Company was responsible for causing this ugly scar which destroys the entrance to the canyon, and prevents public access to the beautiful waterfalls about 2 miles up the canyon. They are now hoping to extend that gravel pit out of Fish Canyon and onto the front face of Van Tassel Ridge, the next mountain, which is much more visible. We have formed a citizens group to oppose that extension and preserve the beauty of our wonderful mountains. Our group’s purpose is to provide a central point for gathering and distribution of information that will help defeat the Vulcan effort. We include people who live and work in Azusa, Duarte, Glendora, Covina, and hope to expand to all the cities who can see the scar. Please visit our information website at www.savevantassel.com/Thanks
