The beginning of the demolition of certain sections of the Foothill Center and block 36 are scheduled for near the end of the year so that they can be redeveloped.
A development agreement has been signed by a major developer and the city to have the property that the Ranch market sits on redeveloped into retail, a market, senior housing, etc. In exchange the developer has agreed to give the city a free 30,000 square foot library, to be built during the first phase. The library would be built accross the street from the City Auditorium, on the same lot that the original new library was planned when Mtn. Cove was being built.
Please make sure to thank Mayor Chagnon, the City Council, and city redevelopment employees for working so hard to get the best possible new developments in this city.
