It works for me. You just need to make sure that you have the current Adobe Acrobat Reader. It is a free download.

still nothing exciting...
The Starbucks is taking way too long........no Verizon tower still....and they did a half ass job replacing the traffic lights (some old and some new) while half the street signs on them don't even light up at night.

I didn't even see the Verizon tower one anymore. Did I just miss it, or is it gone and does that mean the project is gone too? About the traffic lights, what a WASTE. I thought we were supposed to be re-engineering both Azusa and San Gabriel back to two-way streets. So we HAD to spend money on putting these new signals first? I would have gladly kept the older signals on San Gabriel a couple of years more in waiting for the street's conversion (which by the way we just received federal block grant money to do). Though I'd prefer to think we've wasted money on signals that will need to be taken back down in a year or two, what scares me is that it looks more like an indication that there aren't any real intentions of changing to two-way traffic anytime in the near future, which feels like a slap in the face since that's all we've been hearing since we moved here (and as I understand it, was being talked about for years before that too)
About the signs, it's supposed to be "Foothill Blvd." not "Foothill Ave." Speaking of signs, they just "fixed" the Azusa freeway sign a couple of weeks ago... and guess what: low and behold it's malfunctioning all over again. If it's not going to work, can we just get rid of it? At that intersection of Azusa and First, where traffic coming off the 210 West turns left to go south on Azusa, their traffic signal "solution" doesn't look like much of an improvement. You'd think they'd do just like it is for Grand Ave. @ Baseline, and do two left turn lanes (one left-only, the other left/straight) to relieve the overflow of traffic. Nope. They just leave ONE left turn lane and add a signal with a left-yield, which does little to improve the situation for traffic that direction, and does nothing to improve traffic (especially those trying to turn left) in the opposite direction on First.
I'd really like to know whose running things with city engineering because it all looks quite comical right now. Apparently their engineering and planning degrees / skills defies common sense. If I can find one thing nice or encouraging, it's that I like the big A. Sorry if the rant rubs wrong any of our city's cheerleaders, but if you love how these "improvements" are going and truly aren't bothered by endlessly waiting for the coming improvements, I can honestly say I admire your tolerance and patience. Believe me when I say that's exceptional.

The cell phone tower issue is frustrating. I think that Verizon may have canceled its plans but I'm not sure about that. I'm not sure if it is finacially feasible for them to put a tower in that location. I think that there are new towers going up in other parts of the city. Hopefully that may help. This does not mean that the plans for a tower next to Mountain Cove have been canceled. I do not know the current status.
I woud like to see Foothill changed to Route 66 so that it would match Glendora's street and it would be a good marketing thing for the local businesses.
Your infomation is a little incorrect because the Tribune was incorrect. The block grants for San Gabriel and Azusa have not been approved yet. They are proposed. The Tribune made another mistake. I do hope that the block grants are fulfilled but with all of the damage from the recent disasters, it would not surprise me if it is delayed or even canceled.
Regarding the freeway sign, I woud recommend that you notify CalTrans so that that they can correct the problem. Freeway signs are not the responsibility of the city government.
P.S.: I'm not a cheerleader. I just believe that information should be fair and accurate.

No, I for one don't think you come off as a cheerleader or such. But that sign has nothing to do with CalTrans. It is a co-op arrangement between the owners of the Shell gasoline station and the City of Azusa. It's the letterboard and the 'Azusa' itself that's been the problem. Caltrans never has a role in such promotional signs.
Also, the President signed into effect what's been called a 'sweeping' transportation bill that covers thousdands of projects across the country, one of them specifically being Azusa's application to change San Gabriel and Azusa avenues back to two-way traffic. Can you elaborate on where the inaccuracy of Tribune's story was? (I don't doubt you; the Tribune messes up so often, it's become part of its amatuerish charm). I just want to know what's the glitch in the process? Regardless, that only adds to the idea that their endlessly-repeated promise to covert these streets was an empty one.
I also agree that Alosta should be changed to Route 66. It seems ridiculous that Azusa held out on it when it happened. At the time I lived in Glendora, and the word was that businesses balked at the idea, most notable of them APU, because of all the cost into changing their address on materials, etc. I hope they get over it and change it, especially considering the new Foothill Center design is based on a retro Route 66 theme.
Speaking of street name changes / city engineering incompetence, I heard Azusa is keeping the name Palm Drive for Rosedale, which makes sense historically (now it's a private road but will become a city street)... but that they're NOT going to do anything about the fact that there's another Palm Drive already in the city just close/far enough away to cause confusion. Can't they designate them Palm Drive West or East, or Little Palm Drive, heck, Calle La Palma even? I mean, it's no skin off my nose personally, but imagine the confusion for those trying to drive to the current and future residents. It's just silly, albeit not surprising given recent events, that the city actually chooses to do nothing.

Wow...i'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way about Azusa, the traffic lights, etc..
I too noticed how it reads "Foothill Ave" instead of Foothill Blvd.
Seriously, who is in charge of the city's public works? I think I can do a much better job even with my little experience to make the lights, signs, etc. more consistent and asthetic.
Two other things I noticed......when you exit Azusa coming westbound from the 210, they really need two turning lanes...during rush hour, I have to wait twice until I can make the left turn. And when you are taking Sierra Madre towards Todd Street, the signal at the intersection of Lori Ann and Sierra Madre seems to be on a timer now, and the darn thing always turns red when I approach it even when there are no cars on the other side!
Finally, is it just me or does the gun club seem real loud on some sunday afternoons? Doesn't look like they are going anywhere and the gunshots are really starting to get annoying when I'm outside chillin' on the weekends.

Wow....that was way back in October when the Starbucks was still being bulit?? Anyways, I'm glad to see that center open (almost...I think they are still working on the UPS store and Cingulair). It's putting a bright spot in the centre of downtown.
Now...if we can only get a cell phone tower soon.....
