I just noticed that the auto parts store is for sale, including the land. That lots needs to be redeveloped into something nice. Maybe a nice restaurant. Now is our chance to get something done. Any ideas? Know anyone that is interested in opening a new restaurant or a business right next to the freeway? The lot has potential.
Or what about a corner park with a huge fountain.
Any ideas?

I would love to see that lot redeveloped as well. It would be a good step in improving the appearance of that area. It could also be a good location for a fast food restaurant or a drive in Starbucks.

I for one don't want to see another fountain in Azusa. We already have one in front of City Hall and one at Azusa/Foothill. Do you really want the City (i.e. Light and Water) spending thousand of $ for another fountain especially in that area? I'm sorry to see Dick's Auto Parts leave. It's saved our necks many times over.

That is a prime piece of property, being right next to the freeway. I would like to see it redeveloped as well. There are other auto part stores in the area. I don't care if that particular one closes or moves. But I do think that the location could be better utilized and be made to look more attractive. Because it is for sale now, now is a good opportunity to redevelop that lot into something nice.

Is the lot large enough for a bed and breakfast?

I was just watching the movie, "the bird cage". What about a restaurant where the waiters were in drag and with an attitude. That could be fun. rofl

This is kind of what I was thinking of Ed Debevics in Beverly Hills www.dailybruin.ucla.edu/db/issues/99/12.01/ae.debevics.htmlThere is also Gula Gula in Madrid. Gula Gula is a wonderful fun restaurant on the Gran Via with huge windows looking out onto the street. It has amazing views, both inside and outside of the restraurant. The food is wonderful international cuisine with salad bar, buffet type, and meat offerings. The waiters are often dressed in drag and on many nights offer performances. This is a relatively inexpensive meal complete with entertainment. It has the feel of ASIASF in San Francisco, except it holds more people.
