In addition to Blockbuster (does anyone else think the bright all-yellow sign AND post is a little too much?) we'll also be seeing construction on a mixed use building... www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205~23283~2849899,00.html

Finally the Dr. Reyes building is going to be built. We still need an anchor for the downtown, like a movie theatre. I also hope the city would reconsider bringing a farmers market to Azusa. This would be the shot in the arm our downtown merchants need. Let's see how our new city manager works to improve the downtown.

I was hoping for a somewhat newer and nicer building for the Blockbuster rather than just a new coat of paint over the 99c store, but it still looks a heck of a lot better than the former.

It looks like there are several buildings that are being worked on Azusa Ave. It looks like there are going to be a lot of office buildings along Azusa. That is fine with me. At least it is better than empty buildings.
I hope that the city will look into the possibility of adding a regional shopping area to the city. It would need to be located in close proximity to the freeway. I'm not sure where we could put it, with the exception of the River Walk idea. Imaine, we could go on the bike trail to do our shopping.

Starbucks? Any confirmed information about the Starbucks that is supposed to be at Foothill and Azusa?

8-)Our city looks like a ghost town-The buildings are ancient and need to be torn down for all safety purposes. To see a pawn shops on every corner is an eye sore also! Come on Azusa, get with it-spend a little revenue! God knows we pay a lot for utilities and taxes. Start putting it back into the city! Not he pockets of the politicians! I have lived here almost 8 years and the city hasn't done much. The Wells Fargo Bank, Savon and Quiznos-that's a start! Starbucks-we are waiting! Restaurants, office spaces, movie theatre, or a Farmers' Market- are all great suggestions! Let's get a groove-on-and make it happen!!!!

Bill, I also think that the Block Buster sign is a little much! Yes, an improvement, but..... I never did like the Blue Lamp Posts either-but, I couldn't go to the meetings at that time to vote against them. A nice dark brown, tan or even a hunter green would've been appropriate for a canyon city-but blue-YUK!

Dark brown? TAN?
Gee, why not just spray them with cans of black & gray primer?
Really, I'd rather see bright hot pink than have them painted some boring neutral non-color. Brown or tan is just plain bland.

What about alternating colors of the rainbow? Now that would be colorful!
