www.sgvtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,205~23283~2772562,00.html Here is another story of a long term retailer closing (a liquor store), some neighbors were concerned about it closing, but it end up improving the neighborhood overall. We will need stories like these when we want to encourage the city to try to decrease the number of liquor stores in the downtown and use the space for nicer stores. "What once was a remnant of Holly Street's downtrodden past has emerged as an enclave of upscale independent retail stores and restaurants. Other neighboring shops include vintage clothing store Green, Red Dress Shoppe and Hey That's Amore, an Italian-owned cafe and market, and Thai restaurant Nana." For anyone out there that says that things cannot change, they are wrong. Things do change. Depending on the type of business, each type encourages a certain type of clientele. Businesses that should be discouraged are businesses that encourage clintelle that have a tendency to get drunk, do drugs, or do illegal activities. With all of the recent concerns of Americans being over weight and life expectancy decreasing, it would be nice if the downtown had some kind of theme that was health oriented focused.
