AZUSA, Calif. A 46-year-old man was shot and wounded Wednesday while driving on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Azusa, authorities said.
The shooting took place on the eastbound 210 Freeway just east of Irwindale Avenue. It was reported around 12:30 a.m., Azusa police Sgt. Sam Fleming said.
A man in a white pickup truck "appears to have been shot while he was driving on the freeway," Fleming said.
The victim was shot multiple times in his torso area and was flown by an air ambulance to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center in critical condition, a Los Angeles County Fire captain reported.
The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear, and no arrests were made, Fleming said. A description of the assailant was not immediately available.
