Someone posted the news about a new cell phone tower by verizon wireless that is going to be built near the mouth of the canyon. That's great except that... I have a sprint cell phone.
However! I've noticed lately that my sprint phone now gets anywhere from 1 to 3 bars of reception at the house, whereas before I would not even get service at all.
Do you suppose cell phone providers boost service in areas where a competitor is planning to deploy a new cell phone tower? It would make sense seeing as how existing and new customers might tend to switch or go with verizon since they cover the area well.
Anyone else had the same experience with their sprint phone? or, know of such practices?

That's great news about the cell phone tower. Where did you hear this?? I really hope it's true, because right now it is ridiculous not having decent reception..and i pay a grip for my landline bill.
Verizon and Sprint both run on CDMA...so sometimes they share networks, especially if you get the roaming on Sprint, it will bounce off Verizon's network. I tried Sprint and didn't have much luck..but here at the end of Silver Forest, Verizon seems to work the best.....which is a bar or two outside at most.
