Fellow Mountain Covers:
It is with saddened heart that Mountain Covers mourn the loss of our beloved Mark Martin. Mark passed away Wednesday afternoon following complications from heart surgery.
As most of you know, Mark was at the very heart of the community spirit we have all come to enjoy. He truly brought this community together as one of its first residents, and was a major moving force in creating the Mountain Cove identity. He founded and published the Mountain Cove Times, and created and moderated this web-site. Mark was also one of the founding members of the Community's Social Committee.
It is a privilege to have called Mark my friend. My condolences and sympathy are extended to each and every member of his immediate (Lester and Adrian) and extended (Mountin Cove) families.
Mark, we will all miss you and your cheerful smile. Mountain Cove is what it is today because of your influence, and, unfortunately, will never be the same without you. You will always be in out thoughts.
Pat Mallon

So sorry to hear that. My Condolences.
He did a great job with the newsletters and this messageboard.
Hopefully we can continue his legacy.

Well said, Pat.
Mark had a passion for this community that extended beyond Mountain Cove to Azusa and the neighboring communties. Many of the annual events, such as the holiday caroling, the Mardi Gras, were all fueled by Mark's desire to bring the community together. We still have our first edition of the Mountain Cove Times with our original closing documents - the full color version, too!
Mark will be missed but not forgotten. Our prayers and thoughts are with his friends and family. God bless.
