Another great opportunity to get involved in Azusa...
Donations sought for memorial grove
AZUSA -- City officials are accepting applications for donor plates for the Memorial Tree Grove in a new Forest Gateway Interpretive Center being built this spring at the entrance to the Angeles National Forest.
The plates cost $200.
The money will be used for planting and maintenance of the grove. Tributes also are available on benches, fountains and trash receptacles.
Applications can be picked up between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Azusa Recreation and Family Services Department, 320 N. Orange Place, or by calling Joe Jacobs, Azusa director of recreation and family services, at (626) 812-5220.

Bill:
Do you know if they're still going to build the Forest Gateway Interpretive Center?

Last I heard it was still in the works... but that project appers to be moving as slow as molasses.

Got an update:
They've acquired a new architect and will be going out to bid. Hopes are that by year's end the construction can commence, taking approximately 9 months. So maybe by this time next year another neat place to walk/jog to!
The new Forest Gateway Interpretive Center replaces the existing ranger station that we pass by to get to MC and the Memorial Tree Grove will be behind the current parking and wrap itself around the water tower where the current flower pots sit.
