Just recieved bills from the tax assessor re-calculating our 03-04 taxes aswell as the 04-05 property tax. Explanation is vague and I suspect it will effect other Mountain Covers. Anyone else experiencing the same scenario?

I have not received a suplemental tax bill yet but I wont be surprised if I get one. Our annual tax bill was similar to last years, minus the decrease in the facilities district tax because all the homes have been moved in, plus the new tax for the community colleges that was voted in the last election. So, I'm guessing that the 2% increase will also be coming. The value of your home, that they can access it at, can go up as much as 2% per year, from what I understand. With prices of real estate still climbing this year, I would think that they would get their full 2%. In the past, we recieved these increases in supplemental tax bills.
You can also get additional tax bills if you needed some kind of city permit to install your landscaping or enlarge your home. This can result in an additional tax bill. Pools, spas, retaining walls over 3' high, and I think that even patio covers might require permits. I'm not sure about these. You need to check with the city for the requirements.
