(Part 1)
Hey everyone, get your cotton candy and crackerjacks as the circus has come to Azusa and the Big Top has been set up right at city hall. Yes, after an absence of two years when progressive minded and caring adults ran the city, we now have the circus characters back in action.
Oh look, there is the front man for this circus entering the Big Top now. Why, it is none other than Azusa’s own court jester; the clown prince himself, Rocha The Clown! After honing his clown skills for many years as a city councilman, he now brings his hilarious antics to the center ring as Mayor. Smile as he hopelessly tries to play the role of a Mayor. Giggle as he puts on those big shoes clowns wear, but faces the impossible task for him, to fill the shoes of the prior Mayor. Chuckle as he attempts to lead without an ounce of leadership skills. Laugh out loud as he tries to articulate a positive vision for the future of the city when he has none.
He is starting his juggling act now; keeping three balls in the air. The black ball is the “against positive city redevelopment” ball. But wait, watch the spin he puts on the black ball. Why, by putting his spin on it, it gives the false appearance that it is a “ for positive city redevelopment” ball. Oh my, what a showman! There goes the green ball up in the air. This is the “increase spending on city services” ball. Yes, watch this green ball, as it spins in the air, give out greenbacks to those who gave Rocha The Clown his big chance under the Big Top. Hey, even a clown has to remember his benefactors. And now, there goes the gold ball up in the air. This is the most important ball and keeps the entire act together. This is the “raise taxes on Azusa citizens to pay for increased spending on city services” ball. Watch the gold ball, as it spins in the air, suck in the hard earned dollars of Azusa taxpayers. Oh, Rocha The Clown has really mastered his tax and spend juggling act.
But wait, if Rocha The Clown is the front man for the circus why isn’t he the Ringmaster instead of just being a clown. Well, of course, a clown can only be a clown, and in any case the Azusa circus has a group of Ringmasters. They certainly would not give that title, and more importantly that power, to a clown. These Ringmasters are offstage in a smoke filled room directing the circus. You know who they are, the old guard Azusa power brokers that ran the circus when Madrid the Magician was in the center ring as Mayor. Yes, Madrid the Magician, who magically turned downtown Azusa into a ghost town. Madrid the Magician, who tried to make the plans for the Mountain Cove and Rosedale Developments disappear. Of course, she failed in those two magic tricks so the circus needed a new headliner for the show. The Ringmasters understood that positive redevelopment, and a prosperous Azusa, would undermine their circus power. So now they have found the perfect clown, Rocha The Clown, to put under the Big Top to assure that does not happen. ...................(To Be Continued In Part II)

Pure BRILLIANCE, Summit!
I am rolling on the floor laughing and in tears ------ the point you make is so tragically absurd and tragically true all at the same time!
Can't wait for the satire to continue ... please .... go on!

Hey summit and davieboe,
i know why you two clowns are rolling on the ground crying, cause like the former mayor who had her own interest at hand and in the back pockets of her developers a real person who thinks of the city and it's citizens is in control and is being backed by people who really care for the city and not there own needs. the real clowns are out of office and the strings have been cut off the little puppet she had there with her. let see how much of a back bone he has to stand on his own and do the right things for the city. if he (AC) can't and will not do what is right can you say (RE-CALL), we the people have spoken we want and we will get change for the better. so stop your belly akin pull your heads and really take a look at who is out for the city and who is out for them self.

You people are pathetic. Well Summit, your prediction that Cruz was going to be appointed to the open seat was WRONG--as usual. Do you have any more predictions for us? You talk about Rocha being a clown, but he is the one who is now mayor, so where does that put your ex-mayor who was voted out her first time up for re-election? Now that she's out of office, she can go back to being what she always was: NOTHING!

Well, Sparticus, I was hoping to hear from you. You know, Sparticus is such a long name to write out how about I just call you "Sparky." The name "Sparky", I think, fits you to a tee. Let's start again. Well, Sparky, if Gonzalez had finished second in the voting and Carillo third, do you think Rocha The Clown would have done the "fair" thing and appointed Carrillo? Uh, I think not. If that scenario had happened is when you would have seen Cruz appointed. Look for her to pop up on some city commission or city board. That is in spite of the fact she and her ideas were totally rejected by the voters.

One more thing Sparky, Diane Chagnon, accomplished more positive things, touched more people in a positive way, did more positive things for Azusa in ONE HOUR as Mayor or as a city council person than you could ever hope to accomplish in your lifetime.............and that is not a prediction, that is a fact.

Diane put more money in her pocket than anyone running and she still lost. I put two new members on the city council and made a third member the mayor. Can you say that? Let me see you do any those things, not someone else like Diane; If Diane was as good as you say, she would have won. She could not buy this election at any price.

Whoa!!!! Sparticus is sounding like some sort of EGO MANIAC on a major "aren't I special" POWER TRIP!
Right on, Summit! Obviously your circus analogy has touched a sensitive nerve with the "dark side" of Azusa! (That comment is in reference to Darth Vader, not skin color.)
Bring on Part II. Wasn't a gorilla just brought in to the circus recently?

Hey all of you Chagnon stooges, and i think i cover ALL of the stooges, (Larry, Moe, Curly and Shemp ) and just in case you don't know who you are summit, davieboi, zeus and discretion, i would like to know how deep in your pockets the ex-mayor is in ? and why your fighting so hard to put back in office ? what personal gains do you have at stake ? don't forget summit the real person who did all the foot work for the city is Joe Rocha not your ex-mayor. listen if you really know what you are really talking about when it comes to honesty you'll jump the chagnon ship cause that party boat has sunk and get on the right track with Joe Rocha. if you stop and sniff what your shoveling it's all the lies that and empty promises YOUR Ex-mayor made. ... can you live with that? the truth hurts don't it .......... Have a Wonderful Day i know i will

Hey davieboi, it's hard to sit and watch when a friend of more then 30 years is being ridiculed as he has been by people who stand loose alot. Joe is a man of integrity and you can't buy that he has earned it through hard work, sacrifice and at times putting the needs of this city before his personal needs. i have been there when he has been the only one to show up for city wide functions from schools to church and everything in between, where were the rest of the members, off on there personal time not caring about what is really going on. So if i sound a bit harsh yea i am but only because i know the man and what he stands for. yea to a few summit may be hilarious but to most of us he's not.

Summit, it's very apparent you don't know the man, what he stands for and how he embraces this community. You need to listen not hear the words, look not just glance at the progress and the real concerns for this city and not the well fair of the money hungry developers and people who are out for them self's and you don't have to hope yes he is a man of integrity, why else did the community vote him in as mayor and chagnon out. We were done with all the lies and deceptions she handed to the community. I will say it again get to know the man before you judge him for the lies people utter and that are afraid to say to his face. People who lie and make up things to slander a man like Joe are called spineless cowards. You call him "A Clown" do you know for sure? ask your self that question.

Dear Zeus,
Obviously, Sparticus was refering to the fact that he voted for these candidates and not that he personally put them there. In the U.S, no one person is ever responsible for seating any politician...... Thank goodness!!!
However, you obviously have problems seeing the obvious. There is a new day in Azusa. Change has come and although change is difficult sometimes, it can also be good.
We have a good team on the council who I'm sure will do their best to represent the masses they represent. I'm sure there will be times when you will agree with them and times when you will not. But please remember, these people have a very difficult job to do and they need to represent the majority of the residents.....not just your personal opinions. They need our support.
Racism and class discrimination are very obvious in some of the negative postings from Summit, Discretion, and DavieBoi.
Guys....please remember that we are all people regardless of our color, sex, or economic level. I don't know about you guys.....but I believe in a higher power and I know that he/she would be terribly troubled by what has been posted here. We need to put all the competition and negative stuff aside and ban together as a city to make this a wonderful place to live.
Let's put some of this energy into something positive.
Thank you

Athena, I was hoping you would enter the Big Top and you exceeded all expectations! Yes, you come in and played the "race" card. How Vile! Yes, only you could write outright lies and mention a "higher power" in the same breath. Wonderful, Athena.......uh....but we aren't buying your Sister Teresa act. You spent years on this board demeaning your neighbors and calling them names. And now we are supposed to buy in to this "positive" new day is dawning verbage. I tell you what, apologize to all of those that just wanted to be good neigbors to you and you trashed instead and perhaps the "new day" can begin. These apologies should be done in private and not on this board. Yes, you can change things if you really want to.

Hulk, so let me see if I have this straight, it is O.K. for you to disparage a good, honest person, wife and mother, Diane Chagnon, but those that have a little fun with Rocha The Clown are spineless cowards? What does that make you? You defame her by claiming all sorts of fiduciary indiscretions on her part regardless of the fact that you know those claims are untrue. Well, using your words, I guess that makes you a spineless coward. Worse, it makes you a hypocritical spineless coward. The funny thing is I believe if you took my "Circus" post that started this thread to your friend of 30 years, Rocha The Clown, he would say two things. First, he would say that worse things have been written about him. Second, I think he would actually find some humor in it.

You know summit, i could go on and humor you with what you believe is humor, even at the expense of a fine man such as Joe, and if you think I have disparaged Ms. Chagnon your greatly mistaken she has done it all on her own, she needs no help from anyone in that area. So go ahead continue your little fits.

Ahhh, come on, Hulk, you know you smiled somewhere along the line. What part did you kinda' like? I bet you loved the part of how Madrid The Magician "magically" turned Azusa downtown into a ghost town. Hmmm, maybe not, especially if she has also been a friend of yours for 30 years. Well, before I finish Part II tell me your thoughts on Andrea Cruz. She is in it so I am just wondering what names you are going to call me by mentioning her.

Daveboi, Yes, you are correct. You did not make the comments you just said they were hilarious. I'm sorry for my mistake. Summit, Yes, I was well aware that you were expecting me. I only entered this conversation because I think that we need to put this madness behind us. I think we have a great wealth of very talented people here. I was thinking of the possibilites if we were to use this same energy in a more constructive way. I have always tried to be fair and logical with my anwers and do not recall calling anyone "names". I am sorry if, during a debate on any particular subject, I have offended anyone, that was not my intention. It has always been my intention to strongly defend my position and beliefs but not to offend. I realize that sometimes I may not agree with my neighbors but I do respect their difference of opinion. I can assure you that I have been equally "trashed" in very personal and vicious ways, similarly to what is the case here, for standing up for what I believed was right. I am not at all above apologizing to any and all parties I may have inadvertently offended. Mutual apologies may be in order in some cases. Don't you agree? However, let me be the first to extend the olive branch publicly. I will also be happy to do the same thing privately. By the way....thank you for your comparison to Sister Teresa. I think she was an admirable woman and could only hope to be a fraction of the wonderful person that she was. ;D

DavieBoi, you didn't make any racial and/or class comments. In fact, nobody did except Athena. You see, Athena knows that in poiltical hackland where she resides, playing the race and class cards are just what you throw out against people that don't agree with your position. Quite frankly, actually I do feel bad about comparing Rocha to all of the real hard working circus clowns, rodeo clowns and all other professional clowns. They don't deserve to have their noble efforts to make kids laugh demeaned by my turning the inept Mayor Rocha into Rocha The Clown! I hope they understand and forgive me for using their wonderful vocation to describe such a woeful leader. To all real clowns (not inclusive of Rocha The Clown), please accept my apology if I offended you and your profession!!
