It sounds like we need a group formed to really get development plans moving. We need to ask the city to consider forming such a group, whether you want to call it an Economic Development Commission, Citizens Redevelopment Group, or whatever you want to call it. More needs to be done to speed up the process of economic development in our city. For example, we have heard that the developer of the Foothill Center is having trouble locating a major market for that center. We need to look into other supermarket alternatives to make sure that the center is going to be successful as well as provide the retail stores that our city needs. To do this as well as solve other problems in our city, I request that a formal Citizen's Redevelopment Group be formed of all volunteers from residents of Azusa. Getting residents more involved in solving these issues will offer many benefits to our city, including working towards improving our city, bringing our community together more, etc.

None of the major markets want to come into Azusa right now. The current statistics still do not allow for it. The only other market option would be to open a co-op market. I have been to the one in Santa Monica. It is very nice. A community owned market would be the best option if we really want a market. Should we ask the city to work on this?

If the developers end up not putting a market in the Foothill Center, why not put a co-op on Block 36? Combine the co-op with a farmers market like the one in LA. That would be great!
